Job Description

The Walt Disney Company is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Associate Principal Counsel - Consumer Products Licensing to join our team. This role will be an integral part of the legal department, providing counsel and advice on the company's consumer products licensing business. The successful candidate will have a combination of legal acumen, strategic thinking and business acumen to ensure the company's compliance with all related laws and regulations.This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment where creativity and collaboration are highly valued. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for the company's consumer products licensing business, and will be expected to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and an understanding of the business landscape.Required Qualifications:• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one state• 5 years or more of legal experience in consumer products licensing, with experience in the entertainment industry a plus• Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex licensing agreements• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various teams• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of consumer products licensing laws and regulations• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment• A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solvingIf you are a self-motivated individual who is eager to make a positive contribution to the success of The Walt Disney Company, we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  1. Draft, review, and negotiate complex licensing agreements for the company's consumer products.
  2. Ensure the company's compliance with all consumer products licensing laws and regulations.
  3. Provide legal advice and counsel on all consumer products licensing matters.
  4. Collaborate and work effectively with various teams within the company.
  5. Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with consumer products licensing laws and regulations.
  6. Monitor legal developments and trends in consumer products licensing.
  7. Ensure that all licensing agreements are properly documented and executed.
  8. Provide timely and accurate legal advice to internal clients on consumer products licensing matters.
  9. Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and other proceedings related to consumer products licensing.
  10. Provide legal advice and support to business teams in the development and launch of new products.
