Job Description

The Walt Disney Company is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Associate Principal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide legal counsel, advice and support to our Consumer Products, Games and Publishing businesses.As a key member of the global legal team, you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on a wide range of legal matters, including intellectual property, advertising, privacy, distribution and compliance. You will work closely with colleagues in other departments, such as finance, marketing, and operations, as well as external stakeholders, such as vendors and lawyers.The ideal candidate for this position will have at least seven years of experience in a consumer products, games and/or publishing legal role. You must have a JD or equivalent degree from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice law in the US, and have a comprehensive understanding of intellectual property, advertising, privacy, distribution and compliance laws. Additionally, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.If you have a passion for legal excellence and are excited by the idea of joining an industry leader, we invite you to apply for this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal counsel, advice and support to Consumer Products, Games and Publishing businesses.
  2. Advise and guide on a wide range of legal matters, including intellectual property, advertising, privacy, distribution and compliance.
  3. Work closely with colleagues in other departments, such as finance, marketing, and operations, as well as external stakeholders, such as vendors and lawyers.
  4. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
  5. Develop and manage processes for legal review and approval of consumer products, games and publishing initiatives.
  6. Manage relationships with internal clients, external stakeholders, and outside counsel.
  7. Provide legal advice and guidance to internal clients and stakeholders on complex issues.
  8. Monitor developments in legal and regulatory requirements and assess the implications for the company.
  9. Support the development and implementation of legal initiatives and strategies.
  10. Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and other external meetings.
