Job Description

The Scripps Research Institute is seeking a motivated Pre-Award Grants Administrator to join our team. As the Pre-Award Grants Administrator, you will play a crucial role in securing funding for groundbreaking scientific research. Your expertise in grant writing, budget management, and compliance will contribute to the success of our research programs.   1. Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities and stay updated on changes in grant funding processes and requirements.
  2. Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) and other team members to develop grant proposals that align with the organization's research goals and meet funding criteria.
  3. Manage the pre-award process, including proposal development, budget preparation, and submission of grant applications.
  4. Ensure compliance with all grant funding regulations and guidelines, including those from federal agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
  5. Review and edit grant proposals for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  6. Work closely with PIs to develop project budgets and ensure that all budget justifications are accurate and in line with funding requirements.
  7. Maintain accurate records of all grant proposals, submissions, and funding outcomes.
  8. Communicate with funding agencies and partners to clarify application requirements and address any issues that may arise during the pre-award process.
  9. Provide guidance and support to PIs and other team members on grant writing techniques and best practices.
  10. Monitor and track progress on grant applications and provide regular updates to PIs and other stakeholders.
  11. Participate in meetings and discussions related to grant funding and contribute ideas for improving the pre-award process.
  12. Stay updated on developments in the field of grant funding and share relevant information with the team.
  13. Manage post-award activities, including progress reporting, budget revisions, and closeout procedures.
  14. Ensure that all grant-related documentation and reports are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
  15. Uphold the organization's values and ethics in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Business Administration, Finance, Or Public Administration.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Pre-Award Grant Administration, Preferably In A Research Or Academic Setting.

  • Comprehensive Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Private Funding Agencies And Their Grant Application Processes.

  • Strong Understanding Of Budget Development, Grant Writing, And Compliance Regulations Related To Grant Funding.

  • Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively With Multiple Stakeholders.
