Job Description

The Scripps Research Institute is seeking a Facilities Operator to join our team and help us ensure that our facilities are operating at their best. As a Facilities Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and functional environment for our scientists and researchers.   1. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot facility equipment and systems to identify and address any potential issues.
  3. Perform regular inspections of the facility to ensure safety and functionality.
  4. Respond promptly to any facility emergencies, and take appropriate actions to resolve the issue.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, as well as any equipment or supplies used.
  6. Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance and repairs without disrupting daily operations.
  7. Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure an adequate supply of necessary equipment and materials.
  8. Identify and recommend improvements for facility operations and maintenance processes.
  9. Follow all safety protocols and regulations at all times while working on-site.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in facility maintenance and operations.
  11. Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and external contractors to ensure smooth and efficient facility operations.
  12. Prioritize and manage tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of projects.
  13. Proactively identify potential hazards or risks and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents or disruptions.
  14. Monitor and maintain energy efficiency within the facility, making recommendations for improvements when necessary.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Facility Operations: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Aspects Of Facility Operations, Including Hvac Systems, Plumbing, Electrical, And Building Automation Systems.

  • Experience With Maintenance And Repairs: The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience With Performing Routine Maintenance And Repairs On Building Systems And Equipment, As Well As The Ability To Troubleshoot And Resolve Issues In A Timely Manner.

  • Safety And Compliance: The Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Regulations, As Well As Experience With Ensuring Compliance With All Applicable Codes And Standards.

  • Communication And Teamwork: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Effectively As Part Of A Team, As The Facilities Operator Will Be Required To Coordinate With Other Departments And External Contractors.
