Animal Technician

This position is responsible for the daily care of research animals including feeding, cage washing, maintaining a clean environment and monitoring the overall health of the animals. Conducts daily animal health observations and completes health reports identifying sick animals. Performs basic animal health treatments with direction from the veterinary staff. Cleans, sanitizes and autoclaves caging, equipment and refills water bottles. Performs preventative maintenance such as descaling tanks and polishing machine. Euthanizes rodents according to written procedures.
