- Develop and implement global standards for apparel development, ensuring products are of the highest quality and meet company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set and achieve development goals and deadlines.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends and innovations to continuously improve product quality and functionality.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with development standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and mentor a team of apparel developers, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely and efficient production of high-quality products.
- Work closely with the sustainability team to integrate eco-friendly practices into the development process.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of development standards, processes, and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on development initiatives and present recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in product testing and provide feedback to improve product performance and functionality.
- Monitor and manage development budgets, ensuring cost-effective and efficient processes.
- Stay informed on industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance in all development practices.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the development process and provide timely and effective solutions.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences to stay current on industry trends and network with other professionals.
Extensive Experience In Apparel Development: A Senior Manager In This Role Should Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In Apparel Development, With A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Multiple Product Categories And Delivering High-Quality Products Within Tight Timelines.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Global Apparel Standards: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Global Apparel Standards, Regulations, And Compliance Requirements, Including But Not Limited To Safety, Sustainability, And Ethical Sourcing.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Senior Manager, This Role Will Involve Managing A Team Of Developers, Designers, And Vendors Across Different Regions. The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate And Align With Cross-Functional Teams.
Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Senior Manager Will Be Responsible For Setting And Driving The Development Standards For The North Face Globally. As Such, They Should Have A Strategic Mindset And The Ability To Identify And Solve Complex Problems To Ensure The Brand's Products Meet The Highest Quality Standards.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field: A Bachelor's Degree In Fashion Design, Textiles, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Role. An Advanced Degree Or Certification In Apparel Production Or Development Is Preferred.
