Freight/Receiving Associate

- Receive and organize incoming merchandise from suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure all received items are accurately accounted for and recorded in the inventory system.
- Unload, inspect, and verify the quality and quantity of merchandise received, reporting any discrepancies to management.
- Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move merchandise throughout the store.
- Stock and replenish shelves and displays with merchandise in a timely and organized manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and sanitation policies.
- Assist customers with locating merchandise and provide exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
- Communicate any inventory or stocking issues to management in a timely manner.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
- Assist in inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of the store, including restocking and organizing displays.
- Cross-train in other areas of the store to provide support and coverage as needed.
- Continuously strive to improve efficiency and productivity in freight and receiving processes.
Experience In Warehouse Or Freight Handling: A Strong Understanding Of Warehouse Operations And Experience In Handling Freight Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Loading And Unloading Procedures, Inventory Management, And Equipment Operation.
Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: The Job Of A Freight/Receiving Associate Involves A Lot Of Physical Activity, Such As Lifting And Carrying Heavy Boxes And Operating Heavy Equipment. Therefore, Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Organizational And Time Management Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Prioritize Tasks And Manage Time Effectively To Ensure That Shipments Are Received, Sorted, And Stocked Efficiently. Attention To Detail And The Ability To Work Quickly And Accurately Are Also Vital In This Position.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Freight/Receiving Associates Work Closely With Other Team Members, As Well As External Vendors And Delivery Drivers. Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Necessary To Ensure A Smooth And Efficient Workflow And To Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.
Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Procedures: Working In A Warehouse Environment Comes With Potential Hazards, So Candidates Must Have A Solid Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Lifting Techniques, Equipment Operation, And Emergency Procedures.
