In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive their orders accurately and on time.   1. Accurately receive and process incoming freight shipments according to company procedures and standards.
  2. Ensure all received merchandise is properly tagged, labeled, and organized for efficient storage and retrieval.
  3. Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records of inventory levels.
  4. Efficiently and safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and store merchandise.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to unload and sort incoming shipments and prepare them for stocking.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the receiving area, adhering to safety protocols and company standards.
  7. Communicate any discrepancies or issues with incoming shipments to the appropriate team members or management.
  8. Assist with customer orders by accurately pulling and staging merchandise for pick-up or delivery.
  9. Provide excellent customer service by promptly and courteously assisting customers and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and inventory management processes.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions to streamline receiving and stocking procedures.
  12. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, meeting productivity and quality standards.
  13. Act as a positive representative of the company by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  14. Take on additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by management to support the overall success of the store.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Freight Handling And Receiving Processes: This Includes Experience With Loading And Unloading Trucks, Inventory Management, And Proper Handling Of Merchandise To Prevent Damage.

  • Physical Strength And Stamina: Freight And Receiving Associates Must Be Able To Lift Heavy Items, Often Up To 50 Pounds, And Be Able To Stand For Long Periods Of Time While Performing Tasks.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Freight And Receiving Associate, It Is Important To Accurately Record Inventory, Organize Merchandise, And Ensure That All Products Are Received And Stored Correctly.

  • Customer Service Skills: While Primarily Working In The Back Of The Store, Freight And Receiving Associates May Have Interactions With Customers And Should Be Able To Provide Friendly And Helpful Assistance.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Home Depot Is A Busy Retail Environment, And Freight And Receiving Associates Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Quickly To Keep Up With The Flow Of Merchandise. This May Include Working Early Mornings, Late Nights, And Weekends.
