As a member of our freight and receiving team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our stores are stocked and ready for our customers.   1. Receive and process incoming shipments of merchandise, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Organize and stock merchandise on shelves and in designated areas according to company standards.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management about any discrepancies or shortages.
  4. Utilize proper equipment and safety procedures when handling and moving merchandise.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to unload and sort merchandise from trucks and prepare it for store display.
  6. Keep work areas clean and organized, following all safety and company policies.
  7. Assist customers with locating merchandise and provide exceptional customer service.
  8. Maintain a thorough understanding of product knowledge and store layout to effectively assist customers.
  9. Communicate effectively with team members and managers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  10. Identify and report any damaged or defective merchandise to management.
  11. Follow company standards for shrink prevention and loss prevention measures.
  12. Assist with occasional store tasks such as setting up displays or rearranging merchandise.
  13. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and attendance.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
  15. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing The Home Depot brand.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Organizational Skills: A Freight/Receiving Associate Must Be Able To Efficiently Manage And Prioritize Incoming Shipments, Organize Merchandise In The Stockroom, And Maintain Accurate Inventory Records.

  • Physical Stamina: This Role Requires The Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, Often Up To 50 Pounds, And Stand For Long Periods Of Time While Stocking And Receiving Merchandise.

  • Attention To Detail: The Freight/Receiving Associate Is Responsible For Inspecting Incoming Shipments For Accuracy And Quality, As Well As Ensuring That All Merchandise Is Properly Labeled And Stored.

  • Team Player Mentality: The Home Depot Values Collaboration And Teamwork, So The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Be Able To Work Well With Others, Take Direction From Supervisors, And Contribute To A Positive Work Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures: As With Any Job That Involves Physical Labor, Safety Is Of Utmost Importance. A Freight/Receiving Associate Should Be Familiar With Proper Lifting Techniques, Handling Hazardous Materials, And Following Safety Protocols To Prevent Accidents And Injuries.
