As a Freight/Receiving Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our merchandise is received, organized, and stocked in a timely and accurate manner.   1. Receive and process incoming merchandise shipments in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Organize and stock merchandise according to established procedures.
  3. Ensure that freight is properly labeled and stored in designated locations.
  4. Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
  5. Assist in unloading and loading trucks, as needed.
  6. Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  7. Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
  9. Communicate any inventory discrepancies or issues to management.
  10. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  11. Provide excellent customer service by assisting with product location and answering any questions related to merchandise.
  12. Follow all company policies and procedures to maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.
  14. Cross-train in other areas of the store to provide support as needed.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Physical Strength And Stamina: Freight/Receiving Associates Are Required To Lift Heavy Objects And Stand For Long Periods Of Time. Therefore, Physical Fitness And Endurance Are Important Qualifications For This Job.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Freight/Receiving Associate, One Must Accurately Identify And Count Incoming Shipments, As Well As Ensure That They Are Properly Labeled And Stored. Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Avoid Errors And Maintain An Organized Inventory.

  • Forklift Certification: Many Freight/Receiving Associates Are Expected To Operate Forklifts And Other Heavy Machinery To Move, Stack, And Retrieve Merchandise. A Forklift Certification Is Often Required For This Role.

  • Prior Warehouse Or Inventory Experience: Previous Experience Working In A Warehouse Or With Inventory Management Is Highly Beneficial For This Role. It Demonstrates An Understanding Of Warehouse Operations And The Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Customer Service Skills: While The Primary Responsibility Of A Freight/Receiving Associate Is To Handle Merchandise, They May Also Interact With Customers Who Are Picking Up Orders Or Returning Items. Strong Customer Service Skills, Such As Communication And Problem-Solving Abilities, Are Important For Providing A Positive Experience For Customers.
