Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Freight/Receiving Associate. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our store is stocked with the necessary products and that our customers have a smooth and efficient shopping experience.   1. Receive and process incoming shipments of merchandise and supplies.
  2. Ensure all incoming merchandise is accurately scanned, tagged, and labeled.
  3. Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of products received.
  4. Organize and stock merchandise in designated areas of the store.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized receiving area and backroom.
  6. Assist in unloading and loading delivery trucks.
  7. Communicate with management and other team members regarding inventory levels and restocking needs.
  8. Follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with product inquiries and locating items for customers.
  10. Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move merchandise as needed.
  11. Collaborate with other associates to complete tasks and ensure timely completion of receiving and stocking duties.
  12. Monitor and report any damages or discrepancies in received merchandise.
  13. Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in inventory counts as needed.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  15. Represent The Home Depot brand by maintaining a professional and helpful attitude at all times.

  • Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail: A Successful Freight/Receiving Associate At The Home Depot Must Be Able To Efficiently And Accurately Receive, Sort, And Stock Merchandise In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: This Job Involves Handling Large And Bulky Items, So Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift And Move Objects Weighing Up To 50 Pounds.

  • Knowledge Of Inventory Management Systems: Candidates Should Have Experience Using Inventory Management Systems And Be Comfortable Using Technology To Track And Manage Incoming And Outgoing Shipments.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: Freight/Receiving Associates Work Closely With Other Team Members, As Well As Vendors And Truck Drivers. Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well With Others Is Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Flexibility And Adaptability: The Freight/Receiving Associate Role May Involve Working Early Mornings, Evenings, And Weekends To Accommodate The Flow Of Merchandise. Candidates Must Be Able To Adapt To Changing Schedules And Work Efficiently Under Pressure.
