Job Description

  1. Receive and process incoming shipments of merchandise in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Unload and sort merchandise from trucks and ensure it is properly labeled and organized.
  3. Stock shelves and displays with new merchandise and maintain inventory levels.
  4. Ensure all merchandise is properly priced and tagged for sale.
  5. Keep receiving and storage areas clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  6. Assist customers with locating merchandise and provide exceptional customer service.
  7. Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move merchandise as needed.
  8. Communicate with management regarding inventory levels and any issues with shipments.
  9. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  10. Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and meet store goals.
  11. Participate in training and development programs to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing The Home Depot brand.
  13. Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to theft prevention and inventory accuracy.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong Organizational Skills: A Freight/Receiving Associate Must Be Able To Effectively Organize And Manage Incoming And Outgoing Freight, As Well As Maintain Accurate Inventory Records.

  • Physical Stamina: This Job Requires Lifting And Moving Heavy Items, So Candidates Must Have The Physical Ability To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Attention To Detail: A Freight/Receiving Associate Must Be Detail-Oriented To Ensure Accuracy In Receiving, Checking, And Stocking Merchandise.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: This Role Requires Working Closely With Other Team Members, As Well As Communicating With Vendors And Customers, So Strong Teamwork And Communication Skills Are Essential.

  • Experience In A Warehouse Or Retail Setting: Previous Experience In A Warehouse Or Retail Environment Is Preferred, As It Demonstrates A Familiarity With Inventory Management Processes And Procedures.
