
Freight/Receiving Associate

- Receive and process incoming merchandise and shipments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Unload, sort, and organize merchandise from delivery trucks.
- Verify and document accuracy of received merchandise.
- Label and stock merchandise in designated locations.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding shipment and inventory status.
- Operate forklifts and other necessary equipment to move and store merchandise.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while handling merchandise and operating equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily, weekly, and monthly receiving goals.
- Assist with inventory management, including conducting cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of received merchandise.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and merchandising, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of merchandise to stores.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with received merchandise.
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient receiving processes.
- Act as a brand ambassador for The Home Depot, providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Experience In Handling And Organizing Freight: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience In Handling And Organizing Freight In A Retail Or Warehousing Environment. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Handling Techniques, Inventory Management, And Using Equipment Such As Forklifts And Pallet Jacks.
Physical Ability: This Job Requires Physical Stamina And The Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Items, Such As Large Boxes And Furniture. Candidates Should Be Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job And Be Comfortable Working In A Fast-Paced, Physically Demanding Environment.
Attention To Detail: Freight And Receiving Associates Are Responsible For Checking And Verifying The Accuracy Of Incoming Shipments, As Well As Ensuring That Outgoing Shipments Are Correctly Packed And Labeled.
