
General Manager
The Container Store is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and customer-oriented General Manager to lead our retail team. As our General Manager, you will be responsible for driving store performance while providing excellent customer service and creating a positive culture in the workplace. The ideal candidate should have a strong retail background, superior communication skills, and a passion for leading people.To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of five years of retail management experience, with a proven track record of achieving sales goals and developing and leading a team. You should be organized, have a customer-centric mindset, and possess the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. You should also have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as a solid understanding of financial concepts. Most importantly, you should be passionate about customer service and be committed to creating a positive and engaging shopping experience.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor store performance and sales goals, and take corrective action when needed.
- Hire, train, and develop a team of retail staff.
- Lead by example to ensure that excellent customer service is consistently provided.
- Create a positive and engaging workplace culture.
- Work with other departments to implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track store performance.
- Establish and maintain open communication with the corporate office.
- Manage store inventory and ensure accuracy of stock levels.
- Monitor store operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Establish and enforce store policies and procedures.
