Job Description

Welcome to The Children's Place, where we create stylish, high-quality clothing and accessories for kids of all ages. We are seeking a passionate and driven Retail Lead to join our team at our Washington, DC location. As the Retail Lead, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the store and driving sales. We are looking for someone who is motivated, customer-focused, and has a strong understanding of retail best practices.   1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
  2. Train, coach, and mentor retail associates to ensure they are providing exceptional customer service and following store policies and procedures.
  3. Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations for action.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, including promotions, events, and upselling techniques.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring that merchandise is properly displayed and stocked.
  6. Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  7. Collaborate with other store leaders to develop and implement sales and marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.
  8. Create and maintain employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak business hours.
  9. Conduct regular meetings with retail associates to communicate sales goals, store updates, and provide feedback on performance.
  10. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  11. Work closely with the district manager to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase store productivity and profitability.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, and share knowledge with the team to enhance the customer experience.
  13. Monitor and maintain store inventory levels, placing orders as needed and managing returns and exchanges.
  14. Assist with visual merchandising and product placement to create an attractive and engaging shopping experience for customers.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, leading by example for the team and fostering a positive work environment.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: A Successful Ra2 Dc Retail Lead Must Have Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team Of Retail Associates. This Includes The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance And Support, And Foster A Positive Work Environment.

  • Retail Management Experience: To Be Considered For The Role Of Ra2 Dc Retail Lead, Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Retail Management Position. This Experience Should Include Overseeing Day-To-Day Operations, Managing Inventory, And Driving Sales Performance.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Leader, The Ra2 Dc Retail Lead Will Be Responsible For Effectively Communicating With Both Their Team And Upper Management. This Requires Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Actively Listen And Provide Feedback.

  • Knowledge Of Retail Operations: The Children's Place Is A Fast-Paced Retail Environment, And The Ra2 Dc Retail Lead Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Retail Operations. This Includes Knowledge Of Merchandising, Inventory Management, And Customer Service Best Practices.

  • Attention To Detail: As The Ra2 Dc Retail Lead, Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Ensuring The Accuracy Of Inventory And Stock Levels. This Includes Conducting Regular Audits, Monitoring Shipping And Receiving Processes, And Maintaining A Clean And Organized Stockroom.
