As a Merchandise Manager, you will play a critical role in the success of our company by overseeing the buying and merchandising of our shoe products. - Oversee the buying process for all shoe products, including researching trends, analyzing sales data, and negotiating with vendors to ensure the best deals for the company.
- Develop and implement merchandise strategies to meet sales goals and drive profitability.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure timely and accurate replenishment of stock.
- Collaborate with the design and product development teams to create and execute a cohesive and on-trend shoe assortment.
- Conduct regular store visits and communicate with store managers to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze sales reports and make data-driven decisions to optimize product assortment and pricing.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of industry developments.
- Train and mentor team members, providing guidance on best practices for merchandising and buying.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional and marketing strategies to drive sales.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable terms and discounts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Participate in the development of the department's budget and manage expenses within budgetary constraints.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge about the company's products, target audience, and overall brand image.
- Continuously strive to improve the customer shopping experience by ensuring product availability and visual presentation standards are met.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and make recommendations for new and innovative products to add to the shoe assortment.
Extensive Knowledge Of The Footwear Industry: A Merchandise Manager, Shoes Must Have A Deep Understanding Of The Current Trends, Styles, And Customer Preferences In The Footwear Industry. This Includes Knowledge Of Materials, Production Processes, And Pricing Strategies.
Strong Analytical Skills: As A Merchandise Manager, Shoes, One Must Be Able To Analyze Sales Data, Market Trends, And Customer Feedback To Make Informed Decisions About Which Products To Carry, How Much Inventory To Order, And When To Launch New Styles.
Experience In Product Development: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Product Development, Including Creating Product Specifications, Collaborating With Designers And Vendors, And Managing The Product Development Process From Concept To Production.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: A Merchandise Manager, Shoes Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Cross-Functional Teams, Vendors, And Senior Management. They Should Also Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Oversee A Team Of Buyers And Merchandisers.
Retail Merchandising Experience: Previous Experience In Retail Merchandising, Preferably In The Footwear Category, Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Experience In Assortment Planning, Inventory Management, And Pricing Strategies.
