- Greet and welcome visitors to the Texas Tech University campus, providing a friendly and professional first impression.
- Monitor and maintain the security of the campus, including conducting routine patrols and responding to any potential security threats.
- Enforce campus policies and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals on campus.
- Assist with the coordination of campus events and activities, including managing visitor access and providing crowd control as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for visitors, answering any questions and providing directions and information about campus facilities and services.
- Monitor and maintain visitor logs and records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
- Communicate effectively with campus police and other security personnel, providing timely and accurate information as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance to individuals in need, including administering first aid if necessary.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, representing the university in a positive manner.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current on safety and security procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with other university departments and personnel to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the community.
- Keep accurate records of incidents and complete incident reports as required.
- Monitor and maintain security cameras and other security equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to appropriate personnel.
- Uphold and promote the values and mission of Texas Tech University in all interactions with visitors and members of the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall safety and security of the campus.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or An Equivalent Degree. This Shows A Basic Level Of Education And Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills For Communication And Problem-Solving.
Previous Security Experience: Experience In Security Or Law Enforcement Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This May Include Working As A Security Guard, Military Experience, Or Other Related Roles. Previous Experience In A Similar Role Demonstrates An Understanding Of Security Procedures And Protocols.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Visitor And Security Associate, The Candidate Will Be Required To Interact With A Diverse Group Of People. Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For Effectively Communicating With Visitors, Staff, And Law Enforcement.
Attention To Detail: This Role Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure The Safety And Security Of The Campus. The Candidate Should Be Able To Observe And Identify Potential Security Risks, And Take Appropriate Action To Address Them.
Ability To Work Flexible Hours: This Position May Require Working Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays. The Candidate Should Be Able To Work A Flexible Schedule To Accommodate The Needs Of The University And Its Visitors. This May Also Include Being On-Call For Emergency Situations.
