As the supervisor of our scenic studio team, you will have the opportunity to mentor and develop a team of talented artists and technicians, while utilizing your own expertise to bring our productions to life.We are seeking a highly organized and experienced individual with a strong background in scenic design and construction.   1. Oversee the daily operations of the scenic studio, ensuring that all productions and projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
  2. Manage and mentor a team of scenic artists and technicians, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills.
  3. Utilize your expertise in scenic design and construction to bring productions to life.
  4. Communicate effectively with other departments and production teams to ensure seamless collaboration and coordination.
  5. Develop and maintain budgets for scenic projects, including materials and labor costs.
  6. Schedule and supervise work assignments for the scenic studio team, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  7. Troubleshoot and solve technical and logistical challenges that may arise during the production process.
  8. Maintain a safe and organized working environment in the scenic studio, following all safety protocols and regulations.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and techniques, and incorporate new and innovative ideas into productions.
  10. Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the overall goals and objectives of the School of Theatre and Dance.
  11. Represent the scenic studio team at production meetings and provide updates on progress and any potential issues.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures within the scenic studio to increase efficiency and quality.
  13. Provide regular reports and updates to the production team and department leadership on the status of scenic projects.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative working environment within the scenic studio team.
  15. Attend and participate in professional development opportunities and conferences to stay current in the field.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Theatre Arts Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Scenic Design And Construction.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Scenic Artists And Technicians.

  • Proficiency In Cad Software, Such As Autocad Or Vectorworks, For Creating Technical Drawings.

  • Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Multitask And Meet Tight Deadlines.
