  1. Teach secondary English Language Arts courses to students from diverse backgrounds.
  2. Create engaging and challenging lesson plans that align with the English Language Arts curriculum.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth for students.
  4. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of individual students.
  5. Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the K-12 Education Program team to continuously improve and innovate teaching practices.
  7. Monitor and assess student progress and provide timely and constructive feedback.
  8. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
  9. Adhere to all school policies and procedures.
  10. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students.
  11. Attend staff meetings and participate in school events as needed.
  12. Maintain accurate and organized records of student performance and attendance.
  13. Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.
  14. Continuously reflect on and evaluate teaching methods to ensure student success.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Texas Tech University and the K-12 Education Program.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Secondary Education Or A Related Field, With A Focus On English Language Arts.

  • Texas Teaching Certification In Secondary English Language Arts.

  • Prior Teaching Experience At The Secondary Level Preferred.

  • Strong Knowledge Of English Language Arts Curriculum And Instructional Strategies.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Engage With Students And Parents.
