- Develop and oversee the implementation of the TTU K-12 curriculum, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.
- Lead a team of curriculum developers, instructional designers, and educators to create high-quality, engaging, and innovative curriculum materials.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of students and educators.
- Stay current on educational trends, research, and best practices to inform curriculum development and professional learning opportunities.
- Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities for educators, including workshops, conferences, and online courses.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and professional learning initiatives through data analysis and feedback from stakeholders.
- Manage the budget for curriculum development and professional learning, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Serve as a liaison between the TTU K-12 program and external partners, such as school districts and educational organizations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry experts and educational leaders to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities for collaboration.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including students, parents, and educators, to ensure transparency and gather feedback on curriculum and professional learning.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and national standards and regulations related to curriculum and professional learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment for the team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Represent Texas Tech University and the TTU K-12 program at conferences, events, and other outreach activities.
- Prepare reports and presentations to inform university leadership and other stakeholders about the progress and impact of the TTU K-12 curriculum and professional learning initiatives.
Advanced Degree In Education Or Related Field: The Director Of Ttu K-12 Curriculum Development And Professional Learning Should Possess An Advanced Degree In Education, Curriculum Development, Or A Related Field. This Advanced Degree Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Knowledge And Expertise In Educational Theory And Instructional Design.
Extensive Experience In Curriculum Development: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In Curriculum Development, Preferably In A K-12 Setting. They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Curriculum Design Principles, Instructional Strategies, And Current Educational Trends.
Leadership And Management Skills: As The Director Of Ttu K-12 Curriculum Development And Professional Learning, The Candidate Should Have Strong Leadership And Management Skills. They Should Be Able To Effectively Lead A Team, Manage Projects, And Make Strategic Decisions To Ensure The Success Of The Program.
Knowledge Of Professional Development Practices: The Director Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Professional Development Practices And Strategies. They Should Be Able To Develop And Implement Effective Professional Learning Programs For Educators That Align With Current Standards And Best Practices.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Director Should Possess Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills.
