- Develop and implement short-term and long-term facilities plans for Texas State University, taking into consideration the needs and goals of the university and its stakeholders.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify potential challenges and opportunities in the university's physical environment and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and administration, to gather input and ensure alignment of facilities plans with the overall mission and vision of the university.
- Utilize your knowledge of design principles and space utilization to create functional and innovative spaces that enhance the university's physical environment.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all facilities planning activities, including budgets, timelines, and project progress.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess the condition of existing facilities and identify potential areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in facilities planning and design, and make recommendations for incorporating new ideas and technologies.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including presenting plans and proposals to university leadership and other relevant parties.
- Work closely with the Facilities Planning and Construction team to coordinate and oversee construction and renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and codes related to facilities planning and construction.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and a dedication to excellence among team members.
- Continuously evaluate and improve facilities planning processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Represent the university in a professional manner and act as a liaison between Texas State University and external partners, such as contractors and vendors.
Bachelor's Degree In Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Facilities Planning, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Building Codes, Accessibility Requirements, And Sustainability Practices.
Proficiency In Autocad, Bim Software, And Other Design And Project Management Tools.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
