Welcome to Texas State University! We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated SPI Media & Outreach Officer to join our team. As the SPI Media & Outreach Officer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting our university's brand and building relationships with key stakeholders.   1. Develop and implement media and outreach strategies to promote the brand of Texas State University and increase its visibility and reputation.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including media outlets, community organizations, and alumni to further enhance the university's image and reach.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries and proactively pitch story ideas to media outlets.
  4. Create compelling and engaging content for various platforms including press releases, social media, and website.
  5. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistency in messaging and brand representation.
  6. Monitor and analyze media coverage and track the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
  7. Organize and coordinate events and initiatives to showcase the university and engage with the community.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in media and outreach strategies.
  9. Represent the university at various events and act as a spokesperson when needed.
  10. Provide support to other university departments and initiatives as needed.
  11. Develop and maintain a network of media and community contacts.
  12. Act as a liaison between the university and external partners for media and outreach related projects.
  13. Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and promote positive stories and achievements of the university.
  14. Ensure all media and outreach efforts align with the university's mission and values.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional image of the university at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Media Relations, Outreach, Or Communications.

  • Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Convey Complex Information To A Diverse Audience.

  • Knowledge Of Media And Public Relations Strategies And Best Practices, Including Experience With Social Media And Digital Marketing.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With Various Departments And Stakeholders, As Well As A Demonstrated Commitment To Promoting Diversity And Inclusion.
