School Safety Readiness Specialist

3. Train and educate students, faculty, and staff on emergency preparedness and response procedures, including active shooter situations, natural disasters, and other potential threats.
4. Serve as a liaison between the university and local emergency response agencies, coordinating and communicating during emergency situations.
5. Monitor campus security systems and respond to any security breaches or incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
6. Stay up-to-date on current safety trends, laws, and regulations to continuously improve safety measures and practices.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance safety initiatives and resources for the campus community.
8. Collaborate with campus departments to ensure safety and emergency preparedness protocols are integrated into daily operations and events.
9. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans and make recommendations for improvement.
10. Respond to and investigate safety concerns or incidents reported by students, faculty, and staff, taking appropriate action and providing support as needed.
11. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety and emergency preparedness efforts.
12. Participate in university committees and task forces related to safety and emergency preparedness.
13. Act as a first point of contact for safety concerns and serve as a resource for individuals seeking information or assistance related to safety.
14. Represent Texas State University at community meetings and events related to safety and emergency preparedness.
15. Uphold the university's commitment to creating a safe and inclusive campus environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
