  1. Maintain a safe and secure environment for the Texas State University community.
  2. Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
  3. Enforce university policies, local, state, and federal laws.
  4. Conduct patrols of campus buildings and grounds to deter and detect criminal activity.
  5. Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and crimes on campus.
  6. Provide support and assistance to students, faculty, and staff as needed.
  7. Serve as a liaison between the university and local law enforcement agencies.
  8. Participate in training and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
  9. Work closely with campus security and emergency management teams to develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.
  10. Communicate effectively and professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  11. Demonstrate a commitment to community-oriented policing and building positive relationships with members of the university community.
  12. Maintain accurate and thorough records and reports.
  13. Uphold ethical standards and ensure all actions are in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  14. Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect within the university community.
  15. Promote a positive image of the university and the police force through professional conduct and interactions.

Job Qualifications

  • Completed A Certified Police Academy Training Program: Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed A Certified Police Academy Training Program To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Job.

  • Possess A Valid Driver's License: Police Officers Are Required To Operate A Vehicle As Part Of Their Duties, So A Valid Driver's License Is Necessary. This Also Ensures Candidates Have A Clean Driving Record.

  • Physical Fitness: Police Officers Need To Be Physically Fit And Capable Of Handling The Physical Demands Of The Job, Including Running, Chasing Suspects, And Restraining Individuals.
