Information Security Analyst

At Texas State University, we are looking for an experienced Information Security Analyst to join our team. As part of the Security Operations Center, this role will be integral in protecting and defending our university’s IT systems against malicious attacks and cyber threats. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the security risks associated with the use of technology and be able to provide recommendations to reduce institutional vulnerability. Ideal candidates will have a passion for information security and a willingness to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies.The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, as well as a minimum of three years of experience in IT security. Candidates must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have experience with security incident response and investigation processes. Knowledge of IT risk assessment, security audit and compliance standards, and IT security best practices is also desired. Additionally, strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a must.
