As the Gallery Director, you will have the opportunity to curate and showcase a diverse range of art exhibitions, promote artistic expression, and foster a vibrant arts community on campus.   1. Develop and implement a strategic vision for the gallery and art collection that aligns with the university's values and goals.
  2. Curate and organize art exhibitions that showcase a diverse range of artists and artistic styles.
  3. Collaborate with artists, faculty, and staff to identify and acquire new pieces for the art collection.
  4. Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the gallery, including budgeting, scheduling, and staff supervision.
  5. Promote and market the gallery and its events to the campus community and beyond.
  6. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for artists and visitors, promoting diversity and cultural understanding.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and sponsors to support the gallery's mission and programs.
  8. Stay updated on current trends and developments in the art world to continually improve and enhance the gallery's offerings.
  9. Work closely with the university's academic departments to incorporate art and exhibitions into the curriculum.
  10. Serve as an ambassador for the gallery and the university, representing it at events and conferences.
  11. Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to the gallery's operations.
  12. Continuously evaluate and assess the success of the gallery and make recommendations for improvement.
  13. Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, interns, and volunteers to support their professional development.
  14. Maintain accurate records and reports on the gallery's activities and finances.
  15. Uphold the university's mission and values, promoting a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Art History, Museum Studies, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In A Leadership Role In A Gallery Or Museum Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Contemporary Art And Art History, With A Focus On Texas And Regional Artists.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successful Exhibition Planning And Curation.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Artists, Staff, And Community Partners.
