  1. Conduct research on historic sites, artifacts, and traditions related to Texas history.
  2. Develop and implement plans and strategies for the preservation and protection of cultural resources.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential impacts on cultural resources.
  4. Conduct site visits and surveys to assess the condition of cultural resources and identify any potential threats.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all cultural resources and their preservation efforts.
  6. Develop and implement educational programs and outreach initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of cultural resources.
  7. Provide guidance and assistance to developers and project managers to ensure compliance with cultural resource preservation regulations.
  8. Monitor and assess changes in laws and regulations related to cultural resource management and make recommendations for updates to policies and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with other cultural resource management specialists and professionals to share knowledge and best practices.
  10. Stay up-to-date on new technologies and techniques for cultural resource preservation and implementation.
  11. Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, organizations, and tribes to promote cultural resource management efforts.
  12. Participate in community events and meetings to educate the public about the value of cultural resources and their preservation.
  13. Conduct training and workshops for staff and volunteers on cultural resource management practices.
  14. Assist in the development and management of budgets and funding for cultural resource preservation projects.
  15. Monitor and report on the condition of cultural resources and make recommendations for any necessary maintenance or repairs.

Job Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree In Anthropology, Archaeology, Or A Related Field With A Focus On Cultural Resources Management.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In Cultural Resource Management, Preferably In A University Or Academic Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Regarding Cultural Resource Management, Such As The National Historic Preservation Act And The Texas Antiquities Code.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Conducting Cultural Resource Surveys, Site Documentation, And Preparing Reports For Compliance With Regulatory Agencies.

  • Strong Communication And Writing Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Stakeholders, Including Faculty, Staff, Students, And External Partners.
