Job Description

  1. Develop and implement supply chain strategies and plans for the Glass & Chemicals category in line with Tesla's overall objectives and goals.
  2. Oversee and manage the sourcing, procurement, and delivery of glass and chemicals components for Tesla's production facilities.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure the timely availability of materials and components for production.
  4. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  5. Negotiate and maintain supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for Tesla.
  6. Monitor and analyze supply chain data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration to drive continuous improvement.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards for the procurement and transportation of glass and chemicals.
  9. Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials.
  10. Manage inventory levels and optimize inventory turnover to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  11. Develop and train supply chain team members to build a high-performing and knowledgeable team.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and developments related to glass and chemicals sourcing and supply chain management.
  13. Support Tesla's commitment to sustainability by implementing sustainable sourcing practices and reducing the environmental impact of the supply chain.
  14. Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Supply Chain Management Or A Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Supply Chain Management Is Essential For A Supply Chain Manager At Tesla, As This Role Requires A Deep Understanding Of Procurement, Logistics, And Inventory Management.

  • Previous Experience In The Glass And Chemicals Industries: Tesla Is A Leading Manufacturer Of Electric Vehicles, And A Supply Chain Manager With Prior Experience In The Glass And Chemicals Industries Will Be Well-Equipped To Manage The Supply Of These Critical Components.

  • Knowledge Of Sustainability And Environmental Regulations: Tesla Is Committed To Sustainability, And The Company Expects Its Supply Chain Manager To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Environmental Regulations And How They Impact The Sourcing And Transportation Of Materials.
