Job Description

The Solar Roof Instructor will be responsible for conducting instructor led trainings (ILT) and On-the-Job Trainings (OJT) for roofers so that our workforce is knowledgeable and adheres to the best practices in the industry. Conduct Installer Training from start to finish. Complete administrative duties to track learner enrollments, attendance, and course completion. Provide on-site field support and subject matter expertise to installation crews. Perform Quality Audit inspections during the installation and final inspections providing real-time feedback to installers. Develop supporting pre-work and ongoing follow up training to emphasize learnings across channels. Create content for weekly toolbox talks when quality issues arise. Responsible for finding exciting and creative ways to deliver training information and material. Make independent decisions on which locations and crews require additional training based on installation quality metrics. Stay abreast of process and policy changes that affect Tesla installation procedures and field employees.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-years working as a roofer or PV Installer

  • Experience with Tile roofs or with standing seam metal roofing strongly preferred

  • Basic electrical knowledge is preferred

  • Proficiency in installing on all types of buildings with the ability to craft sound solutions to unforeseen field conditions

  • Comfortable presenting on camera and for live audiences
