Job Description

As our Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in testing and analyzing our thermal systems and abuse test procedures for our cutting-edge vehicles. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.   1. Conduct thermal system and abuse tests on our vehicles according to established procedures and protocols.
  2. Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to the engineering team.
  3. Identify and troubleshoot any issues or anomalies during testing.
  4. Collaborate with engineers to develop and optimize test procedures.
  5. Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and techniques into testing processes.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  8. Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to provide updates on testing progress and results.
  9. Assist with the development and validation of new thermal system components.
  10. Document all testing procedures and results accurately and thoroughly.
  11. Participate in team meetings and provide input and ideas for improvement and innovation.
  12. Adhere to company values and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  14. Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
  15. Represent the company in a professional manner and maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Thermal Testing Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Thermal Testing Processes And Procedures, Including Data Acquisition And Analysis.

  • Experience With Abuse Testing: Candidates Should Have Hands-On Experience Conducting Abuse Testing On Automotive Components, Such As Batteries And Powertrain Systems.

  • Engineering Background: A Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Strong Foundation In Engineering Principles And Be Able To Apply Them In A Testing Environment.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Meticulously Follow Test Protocols And Accurately Record Data Is Crucial For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Potential Issues Or Anomalies In Test Results.

  • Team Player: As Part Of The Tesla Engineering Team, The Candidate Will Be Expected To Collaborate And Communicate Effectively With Other Team Members. The Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment And Contribute To The Overall Success Of Projects Is Essential.
