  1. Design and develop control systems for our production processes that meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in production control and implement solutions.
  3. Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and make recommendations for process optimization.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to control systems and equipment in a timely manner.
  5. Develop and maintain documentation and procedures for control systems and processes.
  6. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols in the design and implementation of control systems.
  7. Participate in the commissioning and validation of new production equipment and processes.
  8. Train production team members on the use and maintenance of control systems.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies into our production control processes.
  10. Work closely with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of components and services related to control systems.
  11. Collaborate with the engineering team to develop new control system designs and improve existing ones.
  12. Participate in regular meetings and provide updates on the status of control system projects.
  13. Identify and implement cost-saving measures in control systems and processes.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and management on project progress and any issues that arise.
  15. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Or Mechanical Engineering: A Controls Engineer At Tesla Must Have A Strong Educational Background In Either Electrical Or Mechanical Engineering To Understand The Complex Systems And Processes Involved In Production Control.

  • Experience In Industrial Automation: Experience With Automation Systems, Such As Programmable Logic Controllers (Plcs) And Human-Machine Interfaces (Hmis), Is A Crucial Qualification For A Production Control Role At Tesla. This Will Enable The Engineer To Troubleshoot Issues And Optimize Production Processes Effectively.

  • Knowledge Of Manufacturing Processes: A Controls Engineer At Tesla Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Manufacturing Processes, Such As Assembly Lines, Machining, And Welding, To Develop And Implement Effective Production Control Strategies.

  • Proficiency In Programming Languages: Tesla's Production Control Systems Rely Heavily On Software And Programming Languages. Therefore, A Controls Engineer Must Have Strong Programming Skills In Languages Such As C++, Python, And Java.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Controls Engineer Must Be Able To Analyze Complex Data, Identify Patterns, And Propose Solutions To Optimize Production Processes. Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills Are Crucial For This Role At Tesla.
