  1. Monitor and analyze security events and alerts using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) technologies.
  2. Investigate and respond to security incidents, working closely with the incident response team to contain and mitigate potential threats.
  3. Develop and maintain SIEM and EDR rules, policies, and procedures to ensure the timely detection and response to security threats.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain security controls and measures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  5. Conduct regular reviews of security logs and reports to identify and address any potential vulnerabilities or risks.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and make recommendations for enhancing the company's security posture.
  7. Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and clients on SIEM and EDR-related matters.
  8. Participate in the creation of security awareness training materials and conduct training sessions for employees.
  9. Assist in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  10. Proactively identify and report any potential security issues or gaps in the company's systems and processes.
  11. Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to ensure the timely resolution of security-related issues.
  12. Participate in the on-call rotation schedule to provide 24/7 support for security incidents.
  13. Document all security-related activities, including incidents, investigations, and remediation efforts, for reporting and auditing purposes.
  14. Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of SIEM and EDR systems and processes.
  15. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to information security and privacy.
  16. Communicate and maintain a professional relationship with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on security incidents and threats.
  17. Act as a subject matter expert for all SIEM and EDR-related matters, providing guidance and support to other team members as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Siem And Edr Technologies: A Qualified Candidate For The Siem/Edr Specialist Job At Teradata Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Security Information And Event Management (Siem) And Endpoint Detection And Response (Edr) Tools, Including Their Functionalities, Features, And Best Practices.

  • Experience With Implementing And Managing Siem/Edr Solutions: The Candidate Should Have Hands-On Experience With Implementing And Managing Siem/Edr Solutions In A Large Enterprise Environment. This Includes Configuring Rules, Alerts, And Reports, As Well As Troubleshooting And Resolving Issues.

  • Familiarity With Cybersecurity Frameworks And Regulations: The Candidate Should Be Well-Versed In Industry-Standard Cybersecurity Frameworks Such As Nist, Iso, And Cis, As Well As Regulations Like Gdpr And Hipaa. This Knowledge Is Essential For Ensuring Compliance And Maintaining A Secure Environment.

  • Proficiency In Scripting And Automation: A Strong Candidate For This Role Should Have Experience With Scripting Languages Such As Python, Powershell, Or Bash, And Be Able To Automate Tasks Using Tools Like Ansible Or Puppet. This Skill Is Critical In Managing And Monitoring Large-Scale Siem/Edr Deployments Efficiently.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Siem/Edr Specialist Should Possess Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Identify And Respond To Security Incidents Effectively. They Should Be Able To Analyze Large Amounts Of Data, Detect Anomalies, And Investigate Security Alerts To Determine The Root Cause And Take Appropriate Actions.
