
Unit Secretary - Emergency Room

As a Unit Secretary, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the nursing staff and physicians in the Emergency Room, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. - Provide administrative support to the nursing staff and physicians in the Emergency Room.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records for patients.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, procedures, and follow-up care for patients.
- Answer and direct phone calls and inquiries from patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and order office supplies and equipment as needed.
- Organize and maintain patient charts, ensuring all necessary documents are included.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments to facilitate seamless patient care.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
- Liaise with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain authorizations for procedures.
- Assist with data entry and data management as needed.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Handle any other administrative tasks as assigned by the nursing staff or management.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working As A Unit Secretary Or In A Similar Administrative Role, Preferably In An Emergency Room Setting.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Electronic Medical Records, And Insurance Verification Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals.
Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
