- Accurately document and track cancer cases according to established standards and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to cancer data collection and reporting.
- Utilize strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately code and classify cancer cases.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date cancer registry data, including patient demographics, treatment information, and follow-up data.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other members of the cancer care team to obtain necessary information for cancer case documentation.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks of cancer registry data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Stay updated on changes and updates to cancer registry standards and guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of cancer data for state and national reporting.
- Provide support and education to healthcare providers and staff regarding cancer registry processes and requirements.
- Contribute to the overall mission of providing exceptional care and support to cancer patients through accurate and comprehensive cancer data collection and reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend relevant training and continuing education opportunities to maintain CTR certification and stay current in the field.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement and efficiency in cancer registry operations.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra)
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Cancer Registry Setting
Knowledge Of Icd-O-3 Coding And Current Cancer Data Standards
