  1. Accurately record and maintain patient cancer diagnoses and treatment information in accordance with national and state standards.
  2. Review and analyze medical records to identify and abstract relevant data for cancer registry database.
  3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards for cancer registry data collection and reporting.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure complete and accurate documentation of cancer cases.
  5. Continuously monitor and update patient records to reflect changes in cancer status, treatments, and outcomes.
  6. Utilize electronic health record systems and cancer registry software to manage and report data.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the accuracy and completeness of cancer registry data.
  8. Serve as a resource for healthcare providers and staff regarding cancer registry data and reporting.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  10. Stay informed about new developments and changes in cancer registry regulations and standards.
  11. Assist with data analysis and reporting for cancer research and quality improvement projects.
  12. Attend relevant training and educational opportunities to maintain knowledge and skills in cancer registry practices.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding cancer registry information and processes.
  14. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures and maintain a professional and ethical work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra).

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Tumor/Cancer Registry Operations.

  • Proficient In Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems And Cancer Registry Software.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Icd-O-3 Coding, Ajcc Staging, And Seer Guidelines.

  • Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Multidisciplinary Healthcare Teams.
