
Tumor Cancer Registrar

- Accurately record and maintain patient cancer diagnoses and treatment information in accordance with national and state standards.
- Review and analyze medical records to identify and abstract relevant data for cancer registry database.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards for cancer registry data collection and reporting.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure complete and accurate documentation of cancer cases.
- Continuously monitor and update patient records to reflect changes in cancer status, treatments, and outcomes.
- Utilize electronic health record systems and cancer registry software to manage and report data.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the accuracy and completeness of cancer registry data.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare providers and staff regarding cancer registry data and reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay informed about new developments and changes in cancer registry regulations and standards.
- Assist with data analysis and reporting for cancer research and quality improvement projects.
- Attend relevant training and educational opportunities to maintain knowledge and skills in cancer registry practices.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding cancer registry information and processes.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures and maintain a professional and ethical work environment.
Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra).
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Tumor/Cancer Registry Operations.
Proficient In Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems And Cancer Registry Software.
Strong Knowledge Of Icd-O-3 Coding, Ajcc Staging, And Seer Guidelines.
Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Multidisciplinary Healthcare Teams.
