- Maintain accurate and complete records of cancer patients, including demographic and clinical information, treatment plans, and follow-up data.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including state and federal laws and guidelines, as well as accreditation standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall cancer program and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to collect and analyze data for reporting purposes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in cancer registration standards and guidelines.
- Educate and train staff on cancer registry processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding cancer registry information.
- Utilize cancer registry software and other technology to manage and analyze data.
- Assist with data reporting and analysis for research studies and publications.
- Attend relevant conferences and workshops to stay current in the field of cancer registration.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Prioritize tasks and manage workload to meet deadlines.
- Act as a resource for colleagues and provide support and guidance as needed.
Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra)
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Cancer Registry Operations And Data Management
Knowledge Of Icd-O Coding, Ajcc Staging, And Seer Data Collection Standards
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record Systems And Cancer Registry Software, Such As Coc Datalinks And Metriq
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Maintain Accuracy And Confidentiality In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment.
