  1. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing and organizing the necessary equipment and supplies.
  2. Ensure the safety and well-being of patients by following proper sterilization and infection control protocols.
  3. Maintain a sterile and organized surgical environment throughout procedures.
  4. Communicate effectively with surgeons and other surgical team members to anticipate their needs and provide assistance.
  5. Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with positioning and draping.
  6. Prepare and handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and confidentiality guidelines.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on surgical techniques and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  10. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all procedures and patient information.
  11. Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment or supply issues in the operating room.
  12. Act as an advocate for patients and their families by providing emotional support and answering any questions they may have.
  13. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and demonstrating a strong work ethic.
  14. Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room and providing post-operative care as needed.
  15. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of the healthcare profession.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technician Program: Candidates Should Have Completed A Program In Surgical Technology From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That They Have Received The Necessary Training And Education In Surgical Procedures, Equipment, And Patient Care.

  • Surgical Technician Certification: Candidates Should Hold A Valid Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa). This Certification Demonstrates A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And Patient Safety Protocols.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Prior Experience Working As A Surgical Technician In A Healthcare Setting Will Be Preferred. This Experience Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment, Handle Complex Procedures, And Collaborate Effectively With The Surgical Team.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Equipment And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Equipment, Instruments, And Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques, Aseptic Techniques, And Infection Control Protocols.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: Surgical Technicians Work Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals During Surgeries. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills To Ensure Efficient And Effective Patient Care. They Should Also Be Able To Follow Instructions And Work Well Under Pressure.
