- Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and organizing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and providing necessary equipment and supplies to surgeons.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency in surgical techniques, tools, and equipment to support surgeons in performing safe and effective procedures.
- Monitor and anticipate the needs of surgeons during procedures, including handing them instruments, sponges, and supplies.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by following proper infection control protocols and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
- Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide information and address any concerns.
- Keep accurate records of procedures, including patient information, supplies used, and other relevant data.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education to stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and technology.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to safety, confidentiality, and patient rights.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for improving patient care and operational efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience throughout their surgical journey.
- Remain attentive and responsive to patient needs before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Follow ethical and legal standards, including maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their rights and choices.
- Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the surgical team or healthcare management to ensure the smooth operation of the surgical department.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Surgical Technician Job At Tenet Healthcare Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Accredited Surgical Technology Program: Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Surgical Technology Program And Hold A Certificate Or Associate Degree In Surgical Technology.
Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification As A Surgical Technologist (Cst) Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) Or The National Center For Competency Testing (Ncct).
Experience In Surgical Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Surgical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.
Knowledge Of Sterilization And Infection Control: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterilization Techniques And Infection Control Protocols To Ensure A Safe And Sterile Surgical Environment.
