As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for processing, assembling, and sterilizing medical equipment and instruments used in patient care.   1. Processing and assembling medical equipment and instruments used in patient care.
  2. Sterilizing equipment and instruments using proper techniques and following infection control protocols.
  3. Maintaining a clean and sterile work environment.
  4. Inspecting equipment and instruments for damage or defects and reporting any issues.
  5. Following all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent injuries.
  6. Maintaining accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
  7. Communicating effectively with healthcare staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile equipment.
  8. Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  9. Participating in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and new techniques.
  10. Identifying and reporting any potential safety hazards or risks.
  11. Adhering to all regulatory and accreditation standards related to sterile processing.
  12. Maintaining inventory of supplies and notifying supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
  13. Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing routine maintenance as needed.
  14. Upholding the organization's values and mission to provide high-quality, safe patient care.
  15. Maintaining confidentiality of patient information and following all HIPAA regulations.
  16. Demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to promoting patient safety and well-being.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A Sterile Processing Technician Training Program Or Equivalent Experience In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Certification As A Sterile Processing Technician (Crcst) Through The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm) Or The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd).

  • Knowledge Of Infection Control And Sterilization Techniques, Including Proper Handling And Disposal Of Contaminated Items.

  • Ability To Operate And Maintain Sterilization Equipment, Such As Steam Autoclaves And Gas Plasma Sterilizers.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Accurately Record And Track Sterile Supplies And Equipment.
