- Oversee all aspects of the sterile processing department, including sterilization, decontamination, and equipment maintenance, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the proper handling and processing of medical equipment and supplies.
- Manage a team of sterile processing technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the highest quality of work.
- Maintain inventory levels and order necessary supplies to ensure the uninterrupted flow of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of sterile equipment and supplies to patient care areas.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor and maintain the quality and safety of equipment and supplies.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in sterile processing to continually improve processes and procedures.
- Develop and manage the department budget to ensure cost-effective operations and utilization of resources.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and participate in infection control initiatives.
- Respond to and resolve any issues or concerns related to sterile processing services in a timely and professional manner.
- Act as a liaison between the sterile processing department and other departments to promote collaboration and effective communication.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the department.
- Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating staff to maintain a high-performing team.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a role model for patient care excellence and promote a patient-centered approach within the department.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Management, Or Related Field.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Or Certified Sterile Processing And Distribution Technician (Cspdt) Certification.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Sterile Processing Role, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Or Management Position.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Sterile Processing Techniques, Infection Control Standards, And Sterilization Equipment.
Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals.
