Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Radiation Safety Assistant Director to join our team. As the Assistant Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our patients, staff, and the public from the hazards of radiation.   1. Develop and implement radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols.
  3. Train and educate staff on radiation safety procedures and best practices.
  4. Monitor and maintain radiation detection and measurement equipment.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure safe use and handling of radioactive materials and equipment.
  6. Coordinate with external regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all radiation safety regulations.
  7. Investigate and report any incidents or accidents involving radiation exposure.
  8. Develop and maintain a system for tracking and reporting radiation exposure levels for staff and patients.
  9. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in radiation safety regulations and technologies.
  10. Assist in developing emergency response plans for radiation incidents.
  11. Serve as a resource for staff and patients regarding radiation safety concerns or questions.
  12. Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for enhancing radiation safety measures.
  13. Collaborate with the Director of Radiation Safety to develop and manage the budget for radiation safety initiatives.
  14. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to radiation safety.
  15. Uphold the organization's values and standards of excellence in all aspects of job performance.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification From The American Board Of Health Physics (Abhp) Or The National Registry Of Radiation Protection Technologists (Nrrpt).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Physics, Radiation Science, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Radiation Safety Or Health Physics Role, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Radiation Safety, Including Those From The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (Nrc) And The Environmental Protection Agency (Epa).

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Radiation Safety Professionals.
