  1. Assist cardiothoracic surgeons in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
  2. Conduct pre-operative evaluations and assessments of patients to determine their eligibility for surgery.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
  4. Participate in surgical procedures, including but not limited to harvesting conduits, assisting with anastomosis, and providing exposure and retraction.
  5. Monitor patients during and after surgery, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  6. Conduct post-operative follow-ups and provide patients with necessary instructions and resources for recovery.
  7. Educate patients and their families on the procedure, potential risks, and post-operative care.
  8. Document all patient interactions, procedures, and treatments accurately and thoroughly.
  9. Stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in cardiothoracic surgery.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
  11. Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their rights and dignity.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare professionals, including nurses and medical students.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing best practices for cardiothoracic surgery.
  15. Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and customer service to provide a positive experience for patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program.

  • Current Certification By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience As A Physician Assistant In A Cardiothoracic Surgery Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Cardiothoracic Anatomy, Physiology, And Surgical Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.
