- Schedule appointments, including coordinating with physicians and other healthcare providers, and ensuring the accuracy of patient information and insurance coverage.
- Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness for billing and record-keeping purposes.
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records with necessary information, following HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documents, such as consent forms, insurance forms, and medical history questionnaires.
- Communicate with insurance companies and other third-party payers to verify coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment.
- Process payments from patients, including copays, deductibles, and self-pay balances, and provide patients with financial counseling if needed.
- Coordinate with other departments and staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely delivery of services.
- Handle patient complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner, escalating as needed to resolve any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including patient waiting areas and front desk.
- Keep up-to-date with insurance regulations and policies, as well as changes in patient care procedures, to provide accurate information to patients.
- Participate in team meetings and trainings to continuously improve patient service and satisfaction.
- Adhere to all facility and departmental policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols.
