  1. Support pathologists in the accurate and timely diagnosis of diseases.
  2. Perform gross dissections of surgical specimens and autopsies.
  3. Accurately record and document all findings and results.
  4. Assist with the preparation and staining of tissue samples.
  5. Ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory equipment and workspaces.
  6. Communicate effectively with pathologists and other healthcare professionals.
  7. Organize and prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures.
  9. Attend and participate in department meetings and continuing education opportunities.
  10. Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective operation of the laboratory.
  11. Maintain proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems and other relevant technology.
  12. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the quality of patient care.
  13. Comply with all hospital and laboratory policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  15. Act as a professional and positive representative of Tenet Healthcare at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Biology, Anatomy, Or Medical Laboratory Science.

  • Certification As A Pathologists' Assistant (Pa) From The American Association Of Pathologists' Assistants (Aapa).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Pa In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge And Experience With Grossing Procedures, Tissue Dissection, And Specimen Processing.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Healthcare Professionals And Patients.
