
Orthopedic Technician

- Provide direct patient care by assisting orthopedic surgeons and physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
- Prepare patients for procedures and surgeries by explaining the process, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
- Assist with the application and removal of casts, splints, and other orthopedic devices.
- Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting and documenting patient information, and assisting with patient mobility.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety at all times during procedures and treatments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or response to treatment to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, including wound care, medication management, and physical therapy exercises.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay current on developments and advancements in the field of orthopedics through continuing education and training opportunities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and uphold the values and mission of Tenet Healthcare.
- Act as a patient advocate and provide compassionate and empathetic care to all patients.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of and adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Certified Orthopedic Technician (Cot) Or Certified Orthopedic Technologist (Cot) Through The National Board For Certification Of Orthopedic Technologists (Nbcot).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Orthopedic Technician In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Orthopedic Equipment, Supplies, And Procedures, Including Casting, Splinting, And Bracing.
Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
