
Medical Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery

- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining patient records.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist with procedures as directed by the orthopedic surgeon.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Assist with patient education and provide instructions for post-operative care.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing compassionate and professional care.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and equipment, and order supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and support staff.
- Attend training and educational sessions to stay up-to-date on new procedures and technologies.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Assist with insurance billing and coding as needed.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a welcoming and caring atmosphere for patients and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the orthopedic surgeon or practice manager.
Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Registered Medical Assistant (Rma) Certification
Experience Working In An Orthopedic Surgery Setting
Knowledge Of Orthopedic Medical Terminology And Procedures
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record (Emr) Systems
Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills For Interacting With Patients And Healthcare Team Members
