We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee our Blood Banks Operations. As a Laboratory Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of blood products for transfusion, as well as maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.   1. Oversee and manage all operations within the blood bank department, including but not limited to processing and testing of blood products, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
  2. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines, including those set by the FDA, AABB, and other governing bodies.
  3. Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all blood products.
  4. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all blood bank processes, and regularly review and update as necessary.
  5. Train and supervise laboratory staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and adherence to protocols.
  6. Monitor and manage inventory levels of blood products, ordering and restocking as needed to maintain adequate supply.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate blood transfusions and ensure timely delivery of blood products to patients.
  8. Oversee and participate in the testing and processing of blood products, including performing complex tests and troubleshooting technical issues.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
  10. Keep abreast of industry developments and advancements in laboratory technology and make recommendations for implementing new processes or equipment.
  11. Manage and maintain laboratory budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and identifying areas for cost savings.
  12. Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to blood bank operations, including customer complaints or staff conflicts.
  13. Participate in performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to laboratory staff.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
  15. Adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies and maintain patient and employee confidentiality.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Blood Bank Operations, With At Least 3 Years In A Supervisory Or Management Role.

  • Current Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency.

  • In-Depth Knowledge And Understanding Of Blood Bank Regulations And Standards, Including Aabb, Fda, And Clia.

  • Strong Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Ensure Compliance With Quality Control And Safety Protocols.
