  1. Perform histology procedures accurately and efficiently in accordance with laboratory protocols and safety regulations.
  2. Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination, including embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and reagents, ordering new materials as needed.
  5. Keep detailed records of all procedures performed and results obtained, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy at all times.
  6. Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis of patient samples.
  7. Adhere to quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  8. Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and participate in continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills.
  9. Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff members and students, if necessary.
  11. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and procedures.
  12. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
  13. Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors, keeping them informed of any issues or concerns.
  14. Prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histology Or Related Field: A Formal Education In Histology Or A Related Field Is Necessary To Understand The Principles And Techniques Used In This Role.

  • Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl): This Certification Demonstrates Knowledge And Competency In Histology Procedures And Techniques, And Is Often Required For Employment As A Histology Technician.

  • Experience In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Or Laboratory Environment, Preferably In A Histology Department, Is Highly Desired For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Relevant Equipment And Software: A Strong Understanding Of Histology Equipment And Software, Such As Microtomes And Image Analysis Software, Is Essential For Performing Tasks Accurately And Efficiently.

  • Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills: Histology Technicians Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills To Accurately Prepare And Maintain Histology Samples And Records.
