  1. Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic examination, including embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting.
  2. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
  3. Perform quality control checks and ensure accuracy and precision of test results.
  4. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure consistency and repeatability of results.
  5. Accurately record and document all test results and maintain organized and detailed records.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during testing.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  8. Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis of patients.
  9. Continuously update knowledge and skills in histology techniques and keep up-to-date with industry advances and developments.
  10. Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and patient care, following ethical and legal standards at all times.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members and superiors, providing regular updates on progress and any issues that may arise.
  12. Adhere to all regulatory requirements and standards of practice for histology testing.
  13. Participate in training and mentoring of new staff members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  14. Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness in laboratory operations.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field.

  • Ascp (American Society For Clinical Pathology) Certification As A Histotechnician.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Histology Technician In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.

  • Familiarity With Various Histology Techniques, Including Embedding, Tissue Cutting, And Staining.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Ability To Follow Strict Quality Control Measures.
