
Histology Technician

- Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic examination, including embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
- Perform quality control checks and ensure accuracy and precision of test results.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure consistency and repeatability of results.
- Accurately record and document all test results and maintain organized and detailed records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during testing.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis of patients.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills in histology techniques and keep up-to-date with industry advances and developments.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and patient care, following ethical and legal standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and superiors, providing regular updates on progress and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and standards of practice for histology testing.
- Participate in training and mentoring of new staff members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness in laboratory operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field.
Ascp (American Society For Clinical Pathology) Certification As A Histotechnician.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Histology Technician In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Familiarity With Various Histology Techniques, Including Embedding, Tissue Cutting, And Staining.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Ability To Follow Strict Quality Control Measures.
