  1. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families in the emergency department.
  2. Assist healthcare professionals with patient care tasks and procedures, including vital signs monitoring, wound care, and specimen collection.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized environment in the emergency department.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  5. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  6. Monitor and restock medical supplies and equipment to ensure availability when needed.
  7. Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
  8. Assist with transporting patients to other departments or facilities as needed.
  9. Provide emotional support to patients and families during times of distress.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge and skills in emergency care.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and respect patient's privacy at all times.
  13. Follow hospital policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures for better patient outcomes.
  15. Handle any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the healthcare team.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For An Ed Technician At Tenet Healthcare Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary To Perform The Duties Of The Job.

  • Certification In Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Or Medical Assistant (Ma): Tenet Healthcare Requires Ed Technicians To Have Certification In Either Emt Or Ma. This Certification Ensures That Candidates Have Received Proper Training In Emergency Medical Procedures And Can Effectively Assist In Patient Care.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Experience Working In A Healthcare Facility, Particularly In An Emergency Department, Is Preferred For Ed Technician Candidates. This Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Of An Ed.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Ed Technicians Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Staff Members. They Must Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills In Order To Provide Compassionate And Empathetic Care To Patients In Distress.

  • Ability To Work In A Team Environment: Tenet Healthcare Values Teamwork And Requires Ed Technicians To Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Being Able To Take Direction From Physicians And Nurses, As Well As Effectively Communicate And Work With Other Ed Technicians.
